Cross Schools adds a new varsity soccer program this year, just in time for the spring season.
Soccer joins basketball, football, cross country, softball, cheer, sporting clays, golf and track; with plans to include a varsity baseball team too.
Coach Miguel Lopez, the head coach of the soccer program, outlines his expectations for the upcoming season. “I expect to have a fun and exciting season as our first varsity program. I feel like I have the right guys playing to have a great start to this program here at Cross.” Coach Lopez explains that he has 15 varsity level players and hopes to make it to state level competition.
Girls soccer also breaks into the varsity program this year. Coach Becca Esworthy, who coached girls junior varsity last season, leads the varsity program in 2026.
Coach Joseph Husband is the assistant and goalkeeper coach for both boys and girls varsity teams.
