Cross students traveled to Florence Christian School in February to compete in the SCISA Literary Meet which attracted entrants from xx different South Carolina schools. Middle school competitors included Tito Banigbe, Harper Frisbee, Charlotte Moore, Noah Hodgenson, Connor Mulvaney and Asher Holmes. The upper school team included Kelly McGuire, Juliette Thrower, Lilly Brashear, Dane Aulabaugh, and Shiloh Hunter Daniel. Students competed in three categories with 11th grader Shiloh placing third in the oral interpretation category and seventh grader Tito placing third in the essay writing section. Extemporaneous speaking remained elusive this year. Shiloh shares “I did a passage from chapter one of the Hobbit. I think it went well this year and even though it took a while the event seemed like it was thought out. There were a lot of different schools and it was fun talking […] to people from other schools.”
